Refund Policy

1. Escrow Protection

All payments on HomeworkHero are held in escrow until the student approves the completed work. This protects both students and tutors throughout the assignment process.

2. When Refunds Are Available

Students may request a refund in the following situations:

  • No tutor accepts the assignment within the deadline
  • The tutor fails to deliver work by the agreed deadline
  • The delivered work does not meet the specified requirements
  • The assignment is cancelled before a tutor is assigned

3. Refund Process

  1. Submit a refund request through your assignment page or contact support
  2. Provide a clear explanation of why you are requesting a refund
  3. Our team will review the request within 24-48 hours
  4. If approved, funds will be returned to your wallet or original payment method

4. Partial Refunds

In cases where work has been partially completed or minor revisions are needed, we may offer a partial refund. The amount will be determined based on the percentage of work completed and the nature of the issues.

5. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds are generally not available when:

  • The student has already approved and released payment
  • The student fails to respond to delivered work within 7 days
  • The refund request is made after the auto-release period
  • The student provided incorrect or incomplete requirements

6. Dispute Resolution

If you disagree with a refund decision, you can escalate the dispute to our support team. We will conduct a thorough review of the assignment, communications, and deliverables before making a final decision.

7. Tutor Cancellations

If a tutor cancels after accepting an assignment, the student will receive a full refund and the assignment will be reopened for other tutors to bid.

8. Refund Timeline

  • Wallet credits: Instant
  • Card refunds: 5-10 business days
  • Bank transfers: 3-7 business days
